2. Persevering for the Benefit of Others | Aleta Serrano
Aleta Serranos is a president of Midwest Foodbank of Pennsylvania. A philanthropist, a nurse, an artist, and someone who is daring to live for the benefit of others.
She shares how she, alongside her husband, decided to open a food bank in the middle of covid. They took the bold step to move from NYC to Pennsylvania, not knowing anyone, and started to take steps forward to open a foodbank and answer the longing in their hearts.
That decision is now helping feed over 200,000 families a month.
She talks about her journey from making that decision to the resistance they faced and the persistence they had to endure in order to continue the fight for the hungry.
You will also hear how supply chain issues affect them and why supporting the food bank for those in need is more critical than ever.
Aleta’s story will leave you inspired and educated about how 40% of food in the US gets wasted and how Midwest Foodbank PA is rescuing that food to feed the hungry in over four states and more.
